FAQ Groups

With our expertise in arranging adventures worldwide, DCXP is able to tailor a special expedition for your group of friends, family or colleagues.

We can arrange tailored adventures for small groups, generally of 6 or more participants.

The adventure we arrange for your group might be one of our usual itineraries adjusted to fit your preferred dates, an itinerary we have used in the past, or one developed just for you. As many of our leaders have travelled, trekked and climbed in almost every major destination on the planet, we can get you there.

Please phone or email our office to discuss any aspect of your adventure.

DCXP's trip web pages, and pdf info packs have lots of info about particular adventures. You may also like to look at our photo galleries or videos for a taste of adventure, or download a wallpaper to inspire you at your computer.

What sort of private group adventure could we arrange?

Here are some ideas, or suggest one of your own:

Adventure Rough Duration The short story
Everest Scenic Flight, Nepal Half day
Fly along the front of the Himalayas and around the Everest region for a unique vantage point on those famous mountains
Everest View Trek, Nepal 9 days
Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek into Sargarmatha National Park. The Everest view from above Khumjung is among the best in the whole area
Everest Base Camp Explorer, Nepal 19 days Our usual route takes in the Gokyo Valley and Cho La, but you could stick to the main Khumbu Valley route all the way for a slightly shorter trek
Annapurna Circuit, or Sanctuary; treks & climbs  21 days  Trek along the Marshyangdi River from the middle hills into mountain valleys that seem more Tibet than Nepal. Trek right around truly spectacular mountains of the Annapurna Range, in the well travelled valley, or on a less travelled route that traverses the valley walls. Many alternative itineraries!
Langtang Trek 11 days  A mountain trek within driving distance of Kathmandu.
African Twin Peaks: Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru 16 days
An acclimatisation trek and walking safari on Mount Meru, jeep safari in Arusha National Park, trek the Machame route to the summit Kilimanjaro ‘the Roof of Africa’ (5896m), and a private jeep safari to parks of your choice (but we recommend Tarangiri, Manyara, Ngorongoro and the Serengeti)
New Zealand Mountaineering 7 to 30 days NZ is our old stomping ground and is an ideal place to learn solid mountain skills under the tutelage of excellent guides, or to climb amazing routes. The options range from leisurely courses at mountain huts, to self-supported long alpine rock routes, short fly-in-fly-out ascents of peaks like Cook and Tasman, and everything in between
Island Peak, Nepal 22 days Perhaps ‘the’ classic trekking peak, at the end of the Khumbu valley. The classic route ascends rocky tracks and moderate angled glaciers to the 6189m summit
Nevado Sajama, Bolivia
19 days A warm up acclimatization trek from Cusco to Machu Picchu, across Lake Titicaca to climb Bolivia’s highest mountain, Nevado Sajama
Mount Elbrus, Russia
14 days The highest mountain in Europe can be trekked from ski slopes with picturesque acclimatisation….
Mount Blanc, France
7 days On the border of Switzerland and France, highest point in western Europe. Climbable with some preparation and a good UIAGM guide. Its neighbours offer harder, easier and different options for routes. Small groups can be accommodated due to the excellent inffrastructure int the area.
Tour du Mount Blanc  7-10 days  A very civilised walking circuit around Western Europe's highest peak, the Mont Blanc Massif. Trek roughly 150 km through Switzerland, Italy and France.
Denali, Alaska
4 weeks
The highest mountain in North America (and its in Alaska to boot) demands respect and commitment to a long hard, fun expedition.
Aconcagua Grand Traverse, Argentina 21 days The highest point in the Americas, 6962m. We suggest ascending the Vacas Valley, the false Polish Glacier route to the summit, descending the route normal (Horcones valley). This gives a more picturesque and gentler approach to this huge mountain.
Ama Dablam, Nepal 31 days
We have run many successful expeditions on the ‘standard’ SW Ridge Route. However with an increase in the number of climbers and some deterioration in the route, so we would recommend climbing the 'standard' route in a shoulder season. On the other hand, the North Ridge offers a less-travelled and still achievable route up this stunning mountain in the Everest region of Nepal
Mount Vinson, Antarctica 6-8 weeks
Sea to Summit on the highest mountain in Antarctica!
Or take a ski plane to the base
