What is DCXP?
DCXP Mountain Journeys, formerly Chessell Adventures, but before that DCXP again, is a world-class specialist adventure advisory company catering to individuals and groups.
We specialise in having personal experience of personalised adventurous expeditions to international wilderness destinations. Our particular strengths are in the Himalayas of Nepal and Tibet, and in Tanzania and South America.
Among our goals are:

The company’s office is in Adelaide, South Australia. The western leaders of the trips when required are mostly Australian, New Zealander or American outdoor professionals or the trips are generally led by the highly experienced local leaders

Katie now owns and manages the company. She had her first experience at altitude in 2006 with a successful summit of Bolivia’s highest peak, Navado Sajama, 6542m, and her interest in climbing has taken her from the gym to our excellent local crags of Arapiles and Moonarie. Prior to that Katie's outdoor experience was mainly in triathlon, running marathons and a couple of 100km events in the Adelaide Hills. Katie was an over-achieving team member (her understated goal was to reach the North Col to ‘see how she went!’) of DCXP's 2007 Everest Team and we are very proud that she reached 8450m on the highest mountain in the world. In May 2010 she returned to the mountain and summitted with the team on 25 May, standing on the roof of the world as the deputy leader of the expedition. She has worked with the company since 2006 in Sales and Operations of all the trips we have run in that period.
In 2010 when founder Duncan Chessell decided to move on into other fields, in the name of the old marketing campaign 'she liked the product so much, she bought the business'!

Duncan is one of the founders of DCXP. He has now diverted into the field of mineral exploration.
