Himalayan Five Peaks 100% climbers on all peaks
Tarn Pilkington just called in from Kathmandu, the team is back enjoying a wash, cold beer, and vehicle transport - no more walking for a change!
They deserve it as the team has reported all the climbers climbed all the mountains, an awesome effort by the team, support sherpas and guides. From the DCXP HQ a huge round of applause!!
See how they did .....dispatches
We are very pleased to hear that local land owners have lifted their recent 'closure' of the Kokoda Track. Link to The Australian article.
DCXP's Director, Duncan Chessell, and PNG Operations Manager, Ben Taylor, recently met with village elders and the Chairmen of the Nauro landowners association who also assured us that the Kokoda was open to trekkers and would remain open. The mineral exploration lease has not been renewed by the PNG government, this is good news for the development for the local people of a long term eco-toursim trekking industry.
We look forward to a great trekking season, see you on the track!
