News from PNG - Kokoda Track OPEN for 2008

We are very pleased to hear that local land owners have lifted their recent 'closure' of the Kokoda Track. Link to The Australian article.

DCXP's Director, Duncan Chessell, and PNG Operations Manager, Ben Taylor, recently met with village elders and the Chairmen of the Nauro landowners association who also assured us that the Kokoda was open to trekkers and would remain open. The mineral exploration lease has not been renewed by the PNG government, this is good news for the development for the local people of a long term eco-toursim trekking industry.

We look forward to a great trekking season, see you on the track!
